Hello Master235,
I haven't tried Cedar Finance yet but I want to help you determine if a certain website is high risk or not. Usually, if there is a website that I'm in doubt with, I go to verify1st.com. It reveals a website's identity, relationship and reputation.
Unfortunately, cedarfinance.com is not indexed in Verify1st's database. Check it out here: http://verify1st.com/cedarfinance.com. This indicates that it is not a top website because we have the top websites indexed for now. But soon, as Verify1st grows, it may show up.
It looks like Cedar Finance is not so popular because it ranked 291,418th globally and 59,912th in the US. Also, there are only 52 sites linking into it. Check it out here: http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/cedarfinance.com.
It is only 1 year and 14 days old. With such age, there wouldn't be enough online reports about it yet. In fact, one online reputation site, which based its ratings from people's opinions doesn't have reliability, trustworthiness and privacy ratings for it yet. It only has one rating for child safety, which is "very poor". Other detail is that the website location is in Netherlands and is not blacklisted. The domain will expire on Oct 14, 2013. Be extra vigilant. Such domains with expiration so soon are common behavior of scam sites. In addition, the owner is unknown. It is using a proxy server to hide its identity. The reason could they don't want to receive spams. Beware! It is a common behavior of scam sites as well.
Concerning computer threats, Google and Norton didn't list this website as suspicious. But McAfee hasn't tested this site yet.
I visited the website and it looks legitimate for the reason that a lot of information is there. Contact numbers and physical address are also provided. However, the security badges at the footer of the page seem to be not working. Supposedly, when you click them, you should be redirected to a certain page. But theirs are not linking to anywhere. They are just displays so the site will look legitimate.
What I understand about Cedar Finance is it is similar to the stock market. Am I right? I am also interested in that kind of business that I actually want to venture into it sometime in the future. And if that time comes, one thing that I will consider in choosing where to invest is the reputation of the company. It is important that the company is stable, existed for a good amount of time, and has online reputation reports. Without such reports, it could be risky. Anyway, the decision is still yours if you want to venture into it.
I hope I was able to help you. God bless!
